Digital content manager

Time Out Beijing is looking for a digital content manager to co-run This role involves very little writing or sub-editing of copy. Rather, the digital content manager will optimise all content online, including but not limited to utilising SEO, planning and coordinating seasonal content, and page management.

We are looking for someone with a background in digital marketing with experience of SEO and analytics.


- Work closely with the editorial teams and producers to ensure as much content as possible is search engine optimised before publication.
- Support the content gap analysis process, identifying new opportunities and providing editorial teams with keyword, copy, and layout recommendations for implementation based on driving maximum traffic and engagement.
- Assist in tracking and planning for seasonality to ensure timely publishing of appropriate content to ensure content is optimised.
- Analyse on-site engagement trends, proactively identifying opportunities to improve performance
- Monitor competitor performance and provide recommendations.
- Manage and update the site's section pages to keep content up to date, regularly refreshed and in the right places.
- Work with the events editor to ensure the events page numbers meet required quotas and are written to house style.
- Coordinate with the social media editor to help improve the frequency, quality and targeting of our social media posts.
- Meet quarterly targets for page views and unique visitors, with financial incentives given for attainment of these figures.


- Experience in digital marketing.
- SEO experience including keyword research skills and an ability to teach those skills.
- Experience with Google analytics.
- An understanding of, and passion for, the Time Out brand.

Events editor (paid internship)

Time Out Beijing is now offering paid internships. The successful candidate will run the events pages on and, as well as any blogs that are event-dependent, such as 'Best things to do this week in Beijing', and so on.

We are looking for

- A recent university graduate or someone in the final years of higher education.
- A candidate who can dedicate four days a week, for a minimum of six months.
- Someone with excellent English writing skills and a keen eye for spelling, punctuation and grammar.
- An outgoing individual with an extensive knowledge of Beijing lifestyle events, as well as a desire to provide accurate, comprehensive event listings for Time Out readers.
- Someone with an understanding of, and passion for, the Time Out brand.
- Experience not required – a willingness to learn fast and work hard is.
- Ability to speak Chinese is a big benefit but not necessarily a requirement.

Events Manager

We are looking for a full-time Events Manager to join the Time Out Beijing Sales and Marketing team.

Job description

– Take charge of online and offline communications projects, planning and executing events and marketing campaigns;
– Responsible for coordinating event-related media and other resources, as well as planning projects and implementing them;
– Assist the Sales department’s client needs, including event planning and execution.
– Assist the Sales team in market development, client development, in-depth research, and business negotiations;
– Support Time Out Beijing and Time Out Family brands in new and exciting ways, supporting the marketing manager in the promotion of these brands and brand-related events.

Preferred experience and skills

– Familiar with magazines and other media operations;
– Fluent Chinese communication skills, with strong written and spoken English;
– Three or more years work experience in planning, communications, marketing and other related fields;
– A profound understanding of event marketing;
– Capable of resource integration, data analysis and management;
– Experience in planning and organising large events, executing activities and promotions independently;
– Proven ability of problem solving, executing, planning, and promoting projects;
– Excellent team player, with great enthusiasm and a sense of responsibility;
– Proven record of project development, with strong negotiation and overall management skills;
– Patient and meticulous, a strong communicator who enjoys a challenge, able to work under high pressure;
– Good writing skills required;
– Experiences in a 4A or internet advertising company, media background preferred;
– A strong network of connections within mainstream domestic media;
– Design and Photoshop skills will be a big advantage.

PR Manager

Job description
– Write a variety of materials for the company's brand, products and activities;
– Monitor and evaluate media publicity and marketing effectiveness;
– Collaborate with editors from both the Chinese and English teams, planning promotional campaigns and implementation strategies;
– Establish a media archive, maintaining good relationships with major media partners, constantly looking to open up new media ecosystem;
