Despite being the oldest of the big three on Financial Street, the InterContinental is still barely two years old.
Most people who stay here are on business, but the complimentary toddler kit in every room on the Club Floor (including Johnson’s baby products and a cuddly toy) and the cool X-Change bar with band playing suggests the hotel is keen to cater to other guests too.
The interior is dark and sleek, with amber and yellow box lamps dotted around and a bevy of men and women dressed in black silk qipaos and suits waiting to greet you.
Rooms still look new and have big squishy beds, brown marble bathrooms and flatscreen TVs; views aren’t bad either. InterContinental’s own brand I.Spa offers a range of massages and treatments.
