Afrodance expresses the dynamism of Africa, the richness of its cultures and its global connections – it's a global movement, and it has made it to China. To celebrate the diversity and evolution of African dance, Africa Week will be hosting two dance classes.
Class 1: African drumming & dancing. Hosted by Abbe Dance Company, a group that combines modern dance, hip-hop, African drum dance, tai chi and qigong techniques into holistic movements to explore the diversity of the human body and creative potential.
This class will be held from 1-2pm at Project Pengyou.
Class 2: Led by Yoofi Greene, a talented choreographer leading an Afrobeats revolution in China, this energetic class focuses on teaching participants modern African dances and how to move rhythmically, express themselves through movement, try new things and, most of all, have fun. Afrobeats captures the excitement of being young in Africa – it's fun, it can be silly, it’s expressive and it’s creative.
The class will be held from 3.30-5pm in Flow Studios, located above Caravan restaurant (44 Guanghua Lu, Chaoyang district).
