Modern Sky's Strawberry Festival has been cancelled, organisers have told Time Out
The three-day music festival, scheduled to be held over the Labour Day weekend at Hebei's Grand Epoch City, has had to be pulled with less than two weeks' notice. Officially, Modern Sky have been cagey as to the reasons why, but sources within the organisation are blaming issues surrounding official permits.
The festival will still go ahead in Shanghai – of course it f**king will – with Charli XCX, The Vaccines and The Drums playing, as well as the usual Chinese suspects from Modern Sky's roster of domestic rock acts such as Queen Sea Big Shark and Omnipotent Youth Society; you know, the bands who seem destined to play Strawberry's fields forever. If you fancy making the trip down south for the festival, you can book through Time Out Tickets.
Yeah, no good way to spin this really. What a turd sandwich.
