The five foreigners arrested in the drug bust at 2 Kolegas on August 9 have been deported, Time Out Beijing has learned.

According to a source close to one of those deported, who preferred to remain anonymous, the five foreigners – two Italians, one French, one South African and one other (nationality unknown) – are all on the same flight to Moscow that left earlier today. From there, they will return separately to their home countries.

The expats have been in detention since their arrest. Unable to return home, they had to nominate a 'suitcase bearer' to pick up personal property prior to the flight and deliver it to them at the airport.

We're told the group are shaken up, but okay. 2 Kolegas' future is less certain. The live music venue has been closed since the incident, and it is unknown when, or if, it will re-open.
