Get buzzed on beer and burgers, all for a good cause

Slow Boat Brewery is donating a percentage of its sales throughout December

Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, December offers a multitude of festive excuses for imbibing in boozy beverages. From eggnog, mulled wine and hot apple cider, to a whole roster of upcoming Christmas parties, any excuse will do really.

When someone asks you how many drinks you're going to have at your work Christmas party.

The thing is, despite our love for the occasional cheeky cocktail, the true meaning of Christmas actually has more to do with bringing joy to others and helping out those less fortunate (who would've thought). Luckily for us, the folks at Slow Boat Brewery are helping us do both.

Throughout the entire month of December, Slow Boat Brewery will be donating ten percent of all sales of its four most popular menu items (Captain's Pale Ale, SOS Belgian Wit, the Classic Burger and the Dongsi Dofu Burger) to Beijing-based organization Dew Drops Little Flower, a charity that provides medical and educational support for abandoned children. Dubbed 'Pints for a Purpose', Slow Boat will also be offering vouchers for donations over 20RMB and hosting a Family Day event on Saturday 9 December, with 20 percent of ticket proceeds donated to Dew Drops.

An organisation dedicated to helping out disadvantaged kids, Dew Drops provides comprehensive services to orphaned children with complex medical conditions. It consists of two major projects, its orphan care centre which provides specialised medical and emotional care for abandoned children, and its family support centre, which supports, educates and advocates for disadvantaged families with sick children.

To help out, all you need to do is head to Slow Boat Brewpub and indulge in one of the four menu items, or get rid of your loose change at a donation box. Helping out little kids while scoffing down obscene amounts of food and beer? Sounds like a perfect Christmas to us.
