Tickets are finally on sale for the 2018 NHL China Games. For the second time, the National Hockey League (NHL) is coming to Beijing, with the Boston Bruins set to play the Calgary Flames on September 19 in a pre-season friendly.

The game is sure to be impressive, with both teams boasting long records of competition wins and championship titles, as well as star individuals, scooping up numerous titles, including captains Zdeno Chara (Bruins) and Mark Giordano (Flames), and young buck Johnny Gaudreau (Flames).

For NHL fans, it's obviously going to be a great chance to see top-level teams play in Beijing. But for those who don't know much, even anything, about ice hockey, it's an opportunity to get to know and appreciate Canada's high-octane gift to the world before the Winter Olympics hit Beijing.

Last year we saw the LA Kings and Vancouver Canucks battle it out, marking the start of the Chinese Winter Sport Federation's aim to spark interest in ice hockey in China by teaming up with the NHL; the popularity of the venture is perhaps proven by the fact that they are coming back. This new push is not unrelated to the buildup to those previously mentioned 2022 Winter Olympics, with the government looking to increase participation across all manner of winter sports before the games arrive in Beijing. (They'll also need to remarkably increase snow output in our dry capital, too.)

For more information on the teams, on the game and to get your tickets, click here. And, as a major FYI: early bird tickets close on Friday 10 August, which means that you get 10 percent off tickets for every price range.
