Bike repairman Wang Cuntian and his wife have been in business for over 20 years now, operating out of a small shop on historic Guozijian Jie. He tells us how not to get stiffed on prices and gives us the essential lingo.

Three common conundrums

My inner tube is punctured. 我的车胎被扎了. Wǒ de chē tāi bèi zhāle.


My rims are bent. 我的自行车轮圈变形了. Wǒ de zìxíngchē lún quān biànxíngle.


My brakes need tightening. 我的刹车皮松了,需要调紧. Wǒ de shāchē pí sōngle, xūyào tiáo jǐn.
