Gulou

Delia

A fabulously eclectic mix of new and old, local and foreign, designer and unknown – owners Jessie Li and Lau Jiu Fai curate this exquisite vintage boutique on Wudaoying like the bosses they are. Sourcing pieces from regular trips to Europe and Japan, Li and Lau have ensured that at Delia you’ll find impossible-to-duplicate items like gently loved German glasses frames from the ’70s or an exceptionally vibrant red cape from the ’60s, possibly from Wales or Scotland – somewhere with great wool.

Mega Vintage

The grandfather of Beijing’s vintage scene, Mega remains one of the city’s best bets for a consistently good find. You might know it better as ‘Mega Mega Vintage’, from before last spring when owner Liu Ke rebranded and painted the storefront cream over its original bright red. Rebranding aside, the goods are still the same.

Liu continues to match our expectations of solid variety and top quality for a reasonable price tag. You can generally nab something for a couple of hundred RMB, and there’s a strong showing in the shoes and accessories departments as well as clothing.

Nostalgia

We can’t help but swoon over the decked-out digs of vintage clothiers Nostalgia. Rack upon rack of smart togs await you at this emporium of previously loved attire.

Can’t find a price tag? That’s how they roll! Ask the brother-and-sister sales clerks who run the store to see how generous they’re feeling that day. When we visited, sweaters were around 300RMB; dresses from 500RMB.
