First Look: Mini So

A one-stop shop selling daily household items for under 100 RMB

Consider Mini So a fancy version of a dollar store. Recently opened on the basement level of Sanlitun Soho (building 3), the Japanese retailer has the familiar aura and product offerings akin to Uniqlo, Muji and Ikea – although its authenticity is certainly disputed

You can buy anything in this bargain franchise shop – from underwear, cosmetics, food and kitchen goods to electronics. Check out the selection of goodies we found during our recent visit.

This fancy looking aloe-based cleansing cream was found for a whopping 20RMB. A sound bet to see you through the cold and dry winter months.

Faux Perfume

Let's just say we found a variety of perfumes that distinctly reminded us of Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea and bottles that looked just like Lancome's Tresor, Miss Dior and Chance by Chanel.

Mini So offers a selection of questionable fashion accessories, like these pins (25RMB). They could come in handy if you're looking for Halloween costume inspiration.

Teddy bear pan

This could be the best 10RMB you'll spend here – an adorable pan in the shape of a bear's face. A necessity for every household and perfect for those Sunday pancakes.
