Opened as a labour of love, the piles of yellowing, dog-eared books that fill every corner of this small shop clearly belong to a man with a hording obsession. Owner Cui Yong’s fascination with old Beijing led to a collection that became the shop’s stock. Though some of what takes up room here would frankly be better recycled into something more worthwhile, there are still some fascinating written records of Beijing’s history and Cui himself is more than willing to chat with customers about his beloved city in a thick, local accent.
One of Beijing's lesser-known bookshops.
