This small French bistro – all candlelit tables and smoke-filled air – is relatively laissez-faire in the early evening. But as the night goes on, things get rowdy and vino-fuelled and the place turns into one of the city’s most vibrant dives. We can’t remember the last time we’ve stopped by here late and not seen a shirtless Frenchman dancing on a table.
Pair your bottle with some of the bistro’s authentic French family cuisine, which is served until late (the kitchen usually closes at 11 or 11.30pm). From the excellent warm goats’ cheese with honey and rosemary (62RMB) to their signature succulent steak with shallots (92RMB), it’s as French as labour disputes.
