If you’re coming from Tiananmen
to the mazy hutongs of Dashilar
, you’ll no doubt have to battle your way through more touristy thoroughfares, but this struggle is more than worth it when you reach the pleasant surprise that is Fusan. In an area otherwise known for headaches, Starbucks and foot fatigue, this is a trendy AF coffee joint, with the requisite floor-to-ceiling windows across a broad shopfront and the chicest of furnishings. More importantly, Fusan is serious about its coffee, offering beans from Costa Rica, Panama, Ethiopia and Indonesia, to name just a few, going into well-priced espressos (from 20RMB) and flat whites (from 30RMB). Classics aside, you can also find here a soda Americano (30RMB), that deathly combination of fizzy water (or even Coca Cola) and black coffee. Just what you need before heading back out into the fray.
